ABOUT

Scott is driven by a strong desire to help people move comfortably and perform at their best. He has an in-depth knowledge of sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions affecting the foot and lower limb, with extensive experience within a multi-disciplinary sports medicine clinic.

Scott has experience managing complex injuries across both amateur and professional sporting environments, including patients involved in Netball (SSN), Basketball (NCAA & NBL1), Soccer (NPL & Women's FIFA), Football (VFL, VFLW & AFL), Golf (VGL) and Australian Athletics.

Scott has undertaken further studies towards medicines (ESM), enabling him to prescribe medications and administer corticosteroid injections. He is active in the research community, currently completing a study investigating big toe (1st MTPJ) osteoarthritis on MRI, reinforcing his commitment to evidence-based practice.

Why ankle instability. Why online. Why this way.

Every week I saw the same pattern. An athlete comes in with recurrent ankle sprains. They've done the standard physio. They've been given a theraband and told to do calf raises. They went back to sport. They sprained it again.

The issue wasn't the physio's capability. It was that chronic ankle instability has structural and biomechanical drivers that rarely get addressed in standard rehabilitation. As a podiatrist, I see the foot and ankle differently — the loading mechanics, the structural contributors, the way the ankle behaves under sport-specific force. That perspective changes what you do about it.

But the bigger problem was access. The athletes who needed specialist foot and ankle performance care weren't all in Melbourne. They were everywhere — playing basketball in Brisbane, AFL in Adelaide, court sport in regional areas, competing internationally. Geography was determining the quality of their rehabilitation. That's not acceptable.

DynamicStep is the answer to both problems. A specialist performance programme for chronic ankle instability, delivered online, available to any competitive athlete anywhere.

The Podiatry Difference

Physiotherapy owns the rehabilitation narrative in sport — and rightfully so, they do exceptional work. But podiatry brings a distinct clinical perspective to foot and ankle problems that standard rehabilitation often misses: structural contributors to instability, loading mechanics through the foot and ankle complex, orthotic intervention where appropriate, and a biomechanical lens on why the ankle behaves the way it does under load.

Bridging podiatry and performance rehabilitation is what DynamicStep is built on. Not replacing what physio does — adding the layer that's been missing.

Why podiatry matters in ankle performance.
Basketball. AFL. And every sport where the ankle matters.

Chronic ankle instability is prevalent across all sport — but it's particularly significant in high-velocity, multidirectional sports like basketball and AFL where cutting, landing, and rapid direction changes place extreme demand on ankle stability. These are the sports Scott follows, understands, and has built the DynamicStep system around.

Scott is also pursuing postgraduate research in the ankle space — bringing academic rigour to the clinical frameworks that underpin the DynamicStep programme.
